An extensive list of Mom & Pop motels, diners/ restaurants will soon be posted. Everything is based on personal experience, as well as a lot of research. You won’t find any chain businesses or Air BnB locations listed…for two solid reasons:
First: They didn’t exist, in 1926 or 1932.
Second: They take away from the road trip experience. Denny’s and Motel 6 weren’t part of American culture, back then… nor was the concept of “chain” anything. This blog aims to keep the Route 66 experience as close to the original as possible. I have done all research on my own, spending my own money to finance this project, shot my own photos.
